About Ben
Ben photographed for more than two years in Iraq, covering Baghdad’s descent into sectarian chaos and 2007’s troop surge. His photographs have been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Savannah Morning News, USA Today, Army Times and many other military-oriented publications. He has documented paramilitary and military action in the little-covered separatist war in Thailand’s Deep South, police operations in Charlottesville, Virginia, hunters of rare amphibians in Georgia, guerrilla Cannabis growers in Maine, lonely guards on the Iranian border, the blazing neon of Shinjuku, El Salvadorian soldiers handing out Beanie Babies in the Shiite heartland, subsistence fishermen in the Venezuelan jungle, sport fishermen in Gloucester, and mountaineers who prefer to climb in hurricane-force winter winds. He is an alumni of and staff member at the Eddie Adams Workshop. Ben is available for assignments worldwide. |
